There's Nothing Overnight About Success
Congratulations! She did it! Have you ever heard the saying, "Knowledge is power'? Well, knowledge is only potential power. Without action, consistency, and an outcome, knowledge is little more than digital information. But allow me to introduce to you this amazing young woman that I've had the pleasure to not only have her as an intern working for "Rise Up 4 Change, Inc for 3 years and to mentor her, she became a part of my family. There's so much I can say about this beautiful, dedicated, determined and intelligent young woman but mostly I want to share her successes with you as well.
Ameerah Thomas is an 18-year-old Miami Southridge Senior High School graduate in the top 2% of her class. She has many academic accolades and is very accomplished in her community, committing over 500 hours of community service and earning over 150,000.00 in scholarships. Her educational and community service endeavors have granted her acceptance into the top Historically Black Universities like North Carolina Agricultural and Technical University, Clark Atlanta University, and the Illustrious Howard University, which she will attend in the fall on Scholarship.
Ameerah is an incredible speaker, creative, and intellect. She loves to help others, read, watch films, and participate in social events. We're going to miss her at "Rise Up 4 Change, Inc. but I know that she's going to make a major impact on those she comes into contact with and the world. I'm so proud of you and I love you!

My Testimony: When I got my work assignment to Rise Up 4 Change, I didn't know what to expect. I thought of it as another job assignment that I would work responsibly for and receive my check at the end of the week, just like every other intern. What I definitely didn't expect was to meet two incredible human beings that influenced my life, Mr. and Mrs. Fred and Angela Thomas. Just when you think the world couldn't possibly produce people who have great intentions you are wrong. It was incredibly refreshing to meet two people who were genuinely excited to wake up every day and live life. It made me turn to myself and rethink my attitude towards being able to wake up every day and just live. With the way the world operates I'm so grateful to have met Mr. and Mrs. Thomas for opening doors of opportunity for me and just being a great support system for all my endeavors. Nothing will ever take away from my experience with them and my gratitude knows no bounds for all they have done for me. I truly believe anyone who comes across their path will indeed, rise up. Thank you, Mr. and Mrs., Thomas! I love you'll!
